6 Oct 2015 | Norfolk MA
Speaker: Martin Bowman, Author and Aviation Photographer
Time: 20.00 start
This is a follow up to Martin's presentation in 2011. He has spent time in Cuba photographing the iconic and historic vehicles, that have, with ingenuity, been kept on the road since the revolution in the late 1950's, for his book 'Cuba, Cars and Cigars'. His first presentation was an opportunity for our members to participate in the identification of those vehicles. The resulting book has been published and is now on sale to the public.
Since publication, and now the easing of relations between Cuba and the US, these vehicles will probably disappear in a short time as new trade agreements will surely allow owners to replace them with current models.
Martin is going to give us an update on his research and shed new light on the vehicles and their fate.
This will be an interactive event, with members having the opportunity to participate in identifying vehicle modifications and methods of repair.
