On achievement of either of the above awards, you will enjoy further recognition by receiving a certificate and adding either the letters CAE or AAE before your membership grade post nominals.
Required criteria
| AAE | A Level 4 technical qualification | + | either held CAE for 2 years or have at least five years relevant experience |
| CAE | A level 3 technical qualification | + | 3 years relevant experience |

Please send copies of your qualifications with your application form.

On receipt of the above, your application will then be reviewed by the Professional Standards and Grading Committee. Your application will be processed and notification dispatched to you within 10 working days of receiving your application (28 days for overseas members).
All IMI members have signed and agree to abide by the IMI’s Code of Conduct as a condition of the membership.
In doing so, each member can be proud to display the 2012/13 Membership card as recognition of their qualifications, skills and experience as a motor industry professional.
