IMI achieves Ofqual awarding status

In order to achieve this for qualifications the IMI required its own awarding organisation status.

Following an intensive application process IMI have been successful in achieving Ofqual recognition. From today, 14th August, IMI is an Ofqual regulated awarding organisation and over time IMI Awards qualifications will transition to IMI.

What does this mean for Approved Centres?

IMI’s new status as an awarding organisation will not affect the status of an Approved Centre, nor any registrations they currently have under IMI Awards qualifications. IMI will be working with Ofqual and  regulators of the other nations over the coming weeks to ensure the existing qualifications are transferred seamlessly across to IMI. This may take a little time and IMI will keep all Centres involved with any future changes as they happen via the Approved Centre Update newsletter.

Once all qualifications have been successfully transitioned to IMI - the IMI will become the sole awarding organisation offering qualifications from the company.

During the transition we will ensure that our first class customer service is not disrupted in anyway, and all queries surrounding IMI’s new status should be sent to awardingenquiries@theimi.org.uk or call 01992 511 521.
