IMI CEO responds to EU result

“In the light of the result we believe that it is very much in the interests of our members and the industry we represent to see decisive action and clear evidence of a plan to take the country forward. The heightened uncertainty caused by the Prime Minister’s resignation and the turmoil in the main opposition party cannot serve anybody well....regardless of their voting preferences. Clearly we need to leave the EU on the best possible terms, securing inward investment in our industry and ensuring the future of those who work in it.”

“The UK is one of the primary worldwide markets for all European vehicle brands and given the importance of the car industry to key EU member states like Germany, France and Italy there is every reason to expect that mutual interest can helpdrive future economic cooperation with the UK."
