Registration for the 2013 SkillAuto competitions will be open from 11th February through to 22nd March and this year sees the introduction of some changes to the process, including a much shorter entry period, limited candidate entries and confirmed support from a college, training provider or employer.
Application for SkillAuto
- Colleges, training providers and employers should identify suitable candidates for entry to the competitions and if necessary run in house competitions to help select their best competitor. Only one entry per organisation in each skill area will be allowed.
- Candidates can register from 11th February by visiting the SkillAuto website and selecting “Enter the competition” where they will be redirected to the Worldskills UK registration system.
- After entering some mandatory information candidates will then complete an online test relevant to their chosen technical skill area. i.e Autotech, Autobody or Autopaint. The online test will be used to select competitors for the heats stages, should we be oversubscribed.
- Please note all entries will require a nomination from their college or employer.
Following the closing date those selected will be invited to attend a one day selection heat where they will compete in a range of practical tasks of around 45 minutes each. These normally take place in April/May. - The top six scores in each skill area from the heats are then invited to attend the SkillAuto UK final at the Skills Show on 14th – 16th November 2013.
