HGV Technician

Location: Guildford

Salary: £37,000 to £40,000 per annum

My client, a well-established commercial vehicle repair and service specialist is actively seeking to employ a number of skilled and experienced HGV Technicians for their purpose built, state of the art workshop facility based in Guildford.

Working in a team of highly skilled HGV technicians, the successful applicant will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle service, maintenance and repair.

General duties to include;

- Vehicle Inspections

Our client, is looking for a mobile HGV technician to join their busy depot

Experience as a mobile technician on either LGV or HGVs would be advantageous

Areas of responsibility:

- Inspect vehicles to MOT Standard

- Diagnose faults

- Service and repair customer vehicles or components using appropriate equipment and tools in a safe and economical manner

- Maintain a current product knowledge and attend training courses as required

Vehicle Technician: Guildford

The Role:

Preparing vehicles for MOT tests

Carrying out diagnostic checks

Routine servicing and maintenance

Engine overhaul

Timing belt changes

Carrying out warranty repairs

Requirements:

City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 qualified or relevant experience

Main dealership experience is an advantage but not a requirement

The Role

Fault finding and diagnostics

Servicing, repairs and maintenance

Inspections, testing and refitting

The Candidate

Ideally to be successful as a HGV technician you will need strong engineering experience working with commercial vehicles.

Your problem solving and communication skills will also need to be top notch as you will be working largely under your own supervision.

Existing knowledge of the industry would also be advantageous, as you will be working to recognised standards.

NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent
