From the amazing drive by Jaguar test driver Norman Dewis to the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, through the fairy-tale racing days to the sad farewell in 1974, the Jaguar E-Type has left a legacy of beauty, power and respect throughout the world. Over a period where its devastating good looks transfixed a motoring world, the “XKE” became one of the most famous motor cars of all time. With each year that passes, the legend of the E-Type continues to grow, and today the new and exciting F-Type is due to carry on that mantle.
This talk brings alive the legend that is the E-Type, explores that epic drive by Norman to launch the car in Switzerland, through to the evolution to V12 power, and the changes in the industry that were to spell the end for this amazing Jaguar sports car. This is a highly emotive model, and you will have a glimpse into what has made it so, and hopefully you too will feel that passion that is the incredible Jaguar E-Type.
