Event: Automotive Recycling: Satisfying the European Union - End of Life Vehicles Directive

About the event

The introduction of the European Union End of Life Vehicles Directive changed the face of Automotive Recycling in Europe.

For the first time there were annual targets on the volume of each vehicle to be recycled, certain parts of the vehicle were deemed to be hazardous and standards were introduced in the handling of these components. Vehicle manufacturers were limited in types of materials included in the vehicle, and they also had to provide dismantling information to the dismantler.

The evening will look at current practices, standards and procedures, as well as highlighting some of the changes that are predicted in the next few years, as vehicle design and technology advances.
