20 Nov 2019 | Cheshire MA
With Andrew Marsh FIMI, Engineering Director - Automotive Industry Consulting. Ltd
Start: 20:00
Confusion reigns in the chaos of the Automotive sector as it comes under pressure to deliver mobility solutions never seen before. Consider the
Reduction in tail pipe pollution, driving towards [zero within the next decade] - Price pressures, minimise margins.
Return on investment refuses to rise much above 6% which does not attract investors, required to develop solutions.
Alternatives [Bicycle, bus, train] offer zone specific solutions.
OEMs priority is survival, with engineering goals that often don’t have 2nd life recyclability. A never ending variation of energy storage formats and locations.
We have two steps. One, to manage the current themes for around 2 decades. Two, to push for the next level of production engineering development. OEMs that don’t face extinction, those that do will have new markets waiting. The presentation will explore the implications for the sector.
