Sue was very much a figurehead for the industry and will be missed by all those who worked with her and were influenced by her energy and enthusiasm. Her interests and support span across the industry where she held senior and board positions in many organisations including the National Dealer Council, Motor Industry Training Council, National Franchised Dealer Association, the motor industry charity BEN, Small Business Council, the Motor Sports Association and the Royal Automobile Club, where she was Vice Chairman, amongst many others.
Sue had been a fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry since 1996 and named as its President earlier this year. In 1997 her considerable contributions to the retail motor industry were publicly recognised when she was awarded an OBE.
Our thoughts are with Sue’s family and friends at this sad time but sure they will gain comfort knowing she was such an inspirational character within the UK motor industry and beyond.
