The Sussex Member Association enjoyed an enthralling evening at Northbrook College, Shoreham with Officers from the Sussex Police Forensic Collision Reconstruction & Investigation Unit.
The evening started with a unique opportunity to view an actual Collision Investigation Unit that was on display in the College Workshop, where in addition, items of their forensic analysis equipment was presented for us all to view.
Adrian Short, Chris Harrison and Mark Hill then took over 50 members and guests through the intriguing world of post accident and incident investigation. In turn and over the next hour and a half, the officers each presented an in depth review of three cases they had responded too and supported by photographs from each incident, highlighted the trail of evidence and demonstrated that by using the actual vehicles, reconstructing an incident can provide the verification that will often lead them to their final conclusions.
The three presentations enthralled the audience and explained that in all vehicle collisions the scene of an incident generally provides a “one-shot” opportunity for the Police to gather their crucial information.
Our thanks go to all the Officers from Sussex Police for an excellent evening that was concluded with a short question and answer session.
