Membership is important to me and my team as it provides a way of keeping up to date with the industry.
Joining the Professional Register gives a professional image and shows you are doing something right for the industry.
When I find an area of new technology coming into the workshop, I’ll find a course or information to help me deal with it.
I find it almost impossible to come away from an MA meeting without having learnt something which helps me with my work.

What is Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the practice of maintaining and developing the skills and knowledge required in your job role.
CPD can cover the whole spectrum of learning from formal qualifications, on-the-job development or simply reading a magazine article, for example MIM or technical journals.

Professional Registration is the mark of professionalism, competence, skill, experience and consumer confidence.
The IMI’s Professional Register was launched in April 2012 and will become available for public viewing in April 2013. The Register is a representation of IMI members who have taken a further step to be recognised for maintaining their knowledge, skills, competency and commitment by carrying out 90 credits of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within a 3 year cycle.
If you hold a level of membership from Licentiate (LIMI) to Fellow (FIMI), you can add your name to the IMI’s Professional Register today!
As a professionally registered member, you can also enjoy up to 25% off of all courses and e-learning, from IMI approved CPD delivery partners.
Members on the Professional Register can also enjoy access to the new, state of the art, MyCPD, where you can plan, log and track your training and development.
