Levels of IMI membership

Man in showroom IMI membership is awarded on the basis of an individual's qualifications, career history and automotive industry experience.

There is a level to suit you whatever the stage of your career, whether you're in a technical or non-technical role, in management, sales, customer service or administration. We'll provide you with the expert support you need to reach your goals.

Fellow (FIMI) - Annual membership subscription 2013/14

£110.00

Level 5 equivalent national qualification (e.g Diploma in Management Studies)

5 years in senior management, of which at least 2 years must be in the motor industry

Member (MIMI) – Annual membership subscription 2013/14

£70.00

Level 4 equivalent national qualification (e.g Certificate of Management Studies, BTEC HND, ATA Master Technician, N/SVQ Level 4 or equivalent)

3 years in middle management, of which at least 2 years must be in the motor industry

Associate (AMIMI) – Annual membership subscription 2013/14

£60.00

Level 3 equivalent national qualification (e.g N/SVQ Level 3, ATA Diagnostic Technician)

3 years experience in the motor industry

Licentiate (LIMI) – Annual membership subscription 2013/14

£50.00

Level 2 equivalent national qualification (e.g N/SVQ Level 2, ATA Service Maintenance Technician)

12 months experience in the motor industry

Affiliate (AffIMI) – Annual membership subscription 2013/14

£40.00

Affiliate membership of the IMI is open to individuals interested or working in the automotive industry but who do not yet qualify for a full membership grade or Professional Register status. However you can apply to upgrade your membership status as your career, qualifications and experience develop.
