HGV Technician

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Salary: £42,300 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 45 hours per week, rotating shifts

Overtime: Paid at time and a half after 45 hours

Questech Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to maintain and repair a varied municipal fleet in Weston-super-Mare.

The fleet includes HGV tractor units, gully tankers, roll-on/roll-off vehicles and skip vehicles.

The Role

• Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and rectify defects.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.
• Work closely with the workshop team to keep vehicles safe, reliable and available.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A Level 3 qualification in HGV maintenance and repair is desirable.
• An HGV Class 2 licence is desirable.

Working Hours

Rotating shifts across a 45-hour working week:

• Week 1: 06:00–15:30
• Week 2: 08:30–18:30
