Driveline and Four Wheel Drive System Technology

Driveline includes the components of the power train of an automotive vehicle that are after the transmission, and generally consisting of the drive shaft and the universal joints.  This course will cover propshafts, driveshafts, rear-wheel drive bearings, front-wheel drive bearings, and four-wheel drive systems.

Who is the course for?

Vehicle technicians who are just starting out in the industry or those who have been working for some time and want to consolidate their experience.

What will I get out of it?

You will be able to:

- Understand how light vehicle driveline systems operate.

- Understand how to check, replace and test transmission and driveline units and components.

- Understand how to diagnose and rectify faults in light vehicle transmission and driveline systems.

- Describe universal joints (UJs) and propshafts.

- Describe rear-wheel drive and front-wheel drive bearings.

- Explain four-wheel drive systems including part-time and full-time.
