Event: Norman Dewis – The man behind the legend

About the event

The IMI Sussex Centre, in association with the IRTE, invite you to join us for another evening in the company of Peter Leake, who following his distinguished career with Jaguar, now specialises in training and presentation skills.

On the 8th June 2019, just shy of his 99th birthday, the world mourned the loss of one of its most prolific test drivers - Norman Dewis.  Since joining Jaguar Cars in1952 and his retirement in 1985, Norman had lead the development of probably the most iconic cars of that brand - from the C-Type, through the development of the disc brake to the Le Mans-conquering D-Types. 

Although everyone will remember Norman in their own way, Peter will be telling us about him from his perspective and from someone who knew Norman, worked with him and shared many a happy moment with him, so please come and join us for this walk down memory lane and discover the man behind the legend.

Our doors will open at 19:00 for the customary opportunity to enjoy a tea or coffee and network with friends and colleagues.
